Postgraduate degrees in palaeontology at Mahasarakham University (MSU)

The Faculty of Science and the Paleontological Research and Education Center of the Mahasarakham University (MSU) have their own uniqueness to offer in the field of studying what fossils tell us about the past and evolution. The university offers a programme in palaeontology to take full advantage of the fossil richness of the geological vicinity around the Maha Sarakham Province – especially dinosaur fossils.
Thailand has an excellent record of the terrestrial environments of the dinosaurs’ time ranging in age from the very start, during the Triassic, until the end, during the Cretaceous. Many localities in several parts of the country have yielded abundant fossils including plants, invertebrates and vertebrates with fossils of dinosaurs and other reptiles being specifically abundant in the northeastern region of Thailand.
Because of the infectious reputation of the Paleontological Research and Education Center of Mahasarakham University, MSU signed an agreement related to the creation of the International Research Network (GDRI), entitled Paleo biodiversity of South East Asia (PalBioDivASE). And for this, MSU together with the Museum d’Histoire Naturelle de Geneve will host the 7th International Meeting on Mesozoic Fishes, Systematic and Paleo Biogeographic Patterns from 1–7 August 2017.
