Child labour in India

To study the various definitions of a child as highlighted under the Constitution as well as under various other legislations and compare the various objectives which led to the differential criteria laid down under different domestic and international legislation in defining a child‘. In the course of the research, the researchers have collectively identified loopholes in the legislations defining the child and have suggested various amendments. Also specifically, the research paper contains an emphatic attempt to differentiate between =The Child Labour (Prohibition and Regulation) Act, 1986‘ and =The Right of Children to Free and Compulsory Education Act‘. Further the researchers have also identified various ILO conventions and regulations in relation to Child labour and have suggested various amendments to the same in the changing arena of Child labour problems. Lastly, the researchers have collectively critically analyzed the various landmark domestic cases which have dealt with the problem of Child labour and have tried to suggest various steps which should be taken in the wake of this decade to wipe out every manifestation of Child Labour.
