Corporate Social Responsibility Redefined: A Case Study from an Educational Institution

An essential component of corporate social responsibility is to care for the community - an endeavor to make a positive contribution to the community by supporting a wide range of socio-economic, educational and health initiatives.The marriage of an educational institution to corporate social responsibility is not practiced in many places. The advantages to the stakeholders are many, including the learning for the main stakeholders, namely the students. The objective of the CSR activities of this college was to use resources and strengths in discharging responsibility towards the society. the institution is closely linked to the people of the community through the students. It was decided to adopt a village – Mhaskal (Taluka Kalyan, District Thane), for five years, from 2002. A case study. [Gyansadhana 2009-10]
