The Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination against Women: Implications for Hong Kong

Kong since October 1996, requires States parties to take steps to address all forms of
violence against women. This paper first describes the increasing international concern
with violence against women, the manner in which the CEDAW Convention has been
interpreted to cover various forms of gender-specific violence, and the obligations
