Assessing East-Asian Export Performance

the developing world in achieving high rates of economic growth,
accomplishing what had come to be known as the East Asian Miracle. This
paper focuses on nine East-Asian developing economies (the EA-9), which
include, according to common groupings related to different stages of
development: the NIE-4 (Hong Kong, China; Korea; Singapore; and
Taipei,China); the ASEAN-4 (Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines, and
