Conversation and a Democratic Classroom

However, conversation is much more than an aid to teaching. Children need to talk and to experience spoken language, in order to think and to learn. The role of conversation does not end here. Rather, it can be extended further and made a tool for creating a democratic classroom. This article explores the potential of conversation in this context with the help of a few examples from the classroom.
