ICDDR,B is an international health research institution. It is equipped with necessary research facilities including excellent field study areas. The field areas are specifically designed for research into the common health and fertility problems of developing countries with special emphasis on diarrhoea and directly related field of nutrition. Since its beginning as a cholera research laboratory in 1960, the centre has been responsible for many major scientific developments in the fields of diarrhoeal disease control, nutrition, population studies and community health research and has made significant contributions to scientific literature.
