Segregated Data Analysis Report of NFHS-3 for Adolescents
Published By: MHFW on eSS | Published Date: July, 08 , 2009Adolescents (10-19 years) constitute about one fourth of India's population and young
people (10-24 years) about one third of the population. This huge section of population
represents a great 'demographic dividend' and offers a dependable potential to drive and
sustain economic growth that India has experienced in last few years. In order to fulfill this
potential the nation must be able to invest in their education, health and development
adequately. In order to ensure that they grow healthy they require information and skills;
health services and counselling; as well as a safe and supportive environment.
