Bihar’s Miraculous Economic Performance: Myth or Reality?
Published By: eSS, Mumbai | Published Date: January, 14 , 2010The Indian media has wrongly compared Bihar's (that is, 11.03per cent) average annual growth during the period 2004-05 to 2008-09 with that of Gujarat (that is, 11.05per cent). While the media has quoted the Gross State Domestic Product at factor cost (at constant 1999-2000 prices) data as provided by the Central Statistical Organization so as to come to its conclusion, some moe mining and analysis of data may show that Bihar cannot be compared with Gujarat since the GSDP figure for the latter is yet to arrive.
