Global Financial Turmoil and India’s Look East Policy

But the transition to a more sedate and scaled down financial sector will be traumatic for the world as a whole, as well as for Asia. Since Asia does not appear to be the epicenter of the current turmoil, its growth is likely to be relatively less seriously affected. There is however no reason for Asia to feel complacent, as even moderately diminished growth prospects could exacerbate economic hardship and adversely impact on social cohesion. What then are the future directions for India’s look east policy?
