Globalisation, Democratic Decentralisation and Social Secutiy in India

Firstly, the paper argues that democratic decentralisation can empower the disadvantaged, particularly in
rural areas, to protect their interests from the negative implications of globalisation. Secondly, democratic decentralisation can also facilitate efficient and equitable delivery of various services meant for the disadvantaged in the context of globalisation.
