Poverty Reduction in Pakistan: Learning from the Experience of China
Published By: Pakistan Institute of Development Economics (PIDE) | Published Date: January, 01 , 2012Three major objectives of this study are: (i) to understand China’s success against poverty, particularly the mechanism through which, the economic reforms led to poverty reduction; (ii) to give a historical review of poverty reduction strategies in Pakistan, and understand why the country could not succeed in poverty reduction; and (iii) to draw some policy lessons from the success of China against poverty.
