Peacebuilding Governance – Negotiating the Khmer Rouge Trials

The pursuit of justice against past atrocity crimes through the Extraordinary Chambers in the Courts of Cambodia (ECCC) trials represents an essential step in Cambodia’s rebuilding process as well as a key tool for the state to fulfil its responsibility to protect its citizens from mass atrocities. This NTS Alert examines the role of the Cambodian government in redressing past gross human rights abuses.
