Corruption and the Private Sector

Published By: TI Transparency International | Published Date: September, 14 , 2009

Supporting and encouraging business to do its part in tackling corruption has been a global priority for Transparency International (TI) since its inception. Our approach is firmly anchored in the belief that sustainable progress towards a world free of corruption requires a systematic and constructive engagement with the demand for and supply of corruption and the incentive systems that shape them both. The Global Corruption Report 2009 provides a platform for combining reflections on practical experience with rigorous analysis and a forward-looking perspective on the reform of policy and practice. After fi fteen years working with the private sector, and on issues of the supply side of corruption, we felt it was an opportune time to take stock of progress and suggest new and constructive ways ahead.
