Strategic Gender Interventions and Poverty Reduction: Principles and Practice

Published By: IFAD-UNIFEM Gender Mainstreaming Programme

This manual has been written as a source book for gender interventions, an analysis of appropriate interventions giving various practical steps, rather than as a set of prescriptions. While the manual has been written specifically with the experience and requirements of IFAD’s Asia and the Pacific Division in mind, it is our understanding that it is of relevance to other agencies involved in poverty reduction efforts in Asia. With some application to the specific situations of other regions, like Latin America and Africa, it could also be made relevant to poverty reduction projects in other parts of the developing world. Further, this manual is a living document, one to which additions and amendments can continue to be made as experience develops and refines or even changes various suggested interventions.
