The Guiding Visible Hand of Participatory Approaches to Irrigation Management
Published By: Gujarat Institute of Development Research (GIDR) | Published Date: August, 01 , 2003The paper argues that the difference in the mode of programme implementation between Andhra Pradesh and Gujarat exerts an influence on the function and performance of the local institutions created as well as on the level of peoples’ participation in irrigation management. In this context, the dwindling faith in PIM programme is highlighted with the help of the review of studies.
