Enhancing Optimal Infant Feeding Practices in India

As india struggles to improve nutrition, it needs to urgently and proactively enhance the rates of optimal infant feeding practices. These include initiation of breastfeeding within one hour of birth, exclusive breastfeeding for the first six months of life, introduction of complementary feeding at six months, and ensuring that children receive adequate complementary foods, both appropriate to their age in terms of quality and quantity along with continued breastfeeding for two years or beyond.
