The Afghanistan Conflict in its Historical Context

Afghanistan has long been used as a battleground for strategic wars by larger external powers. This is in part due to its geographic position between the Middle East, Central Asia and South Asia. According to an assessment of the transition towards a post-2014 Afghanistan by the International Crisis Group (ICG), Afghanistan is hurtling towards a devastating political crisis as its government prepares to take full control of security by the end of 2014. This paper throws light on Afghanistan conflict and its political scenario.
