This is evident from the experiments at Sukhomajri, Ralegan-Siddhi and the Chipko Andolan among others. This paper describes the conceptualization and implementation of Sukha Mukti Abhiyan (SMA), a pilot participatory programme to evolve a long-term approach for drought-proofing Palamau district in Bihar.
