Population and Ageing in India
Published By: Centre for Enquiry into Health and Allied Themes | Published Date: July, 01 , 2006According to present indications, most of the growth in the older age groups will take place in developing countries and over half of it will be in Asia, especially in the two major population giants of Asia, namely India and China. Some definite health intervention measures are necessary to cater to specific diseases associated with old age. There is a need to recognise that these age groups need to be treated as a category by themselves.
