Published By: IPS on eSS | Published Date: January, 09 , 2007

This article discusses the art of deliberately creating a global city for Asiain Singapore. Twnty-first century cities exist in order to allow human interaction and enhance lifestyle. Such clusters developed organically from an earlier milieu in the case of London and New ork. But this does not mean that the process of clustering cannot benefit from deliberate planning. Indeed this article argues that this process can be encouraged by intelligent planning. this is particularly true of late entrants in Asia who can stiudy and understand the urban dynamics of existing global cities in Europe and North America.
