Death Penalty Through Self Incrimination in India

Published By: ACHR | Published Date: October, 01 , 2014

This ACHR report focuses on six specific case studies on the right to life in the context of death penalty. The report highlights Constitutional and other legal guarantees against self-incrimination and their violations by India. The report suggests Death penalty is the harshest punishment. It extinguishes life and provides no scope for correction in case of an error of judgement. Therefore, the proof for awarding capital punishment must be of the highest standards.
