Ethnographies of Schooling in Contemporary India explores the schooling experience in India today, and seeks to understand the impact of peer interaction in a variety of environments. Through the book, a number of religious and cultural school environments across India are studied, which gives the reader a good idea of the living experience of urban schools today. Professor Krishnaraj also shares her own experiences in primary school research, and recounts the differences in the cultural atmosphere prevalent in contemporary schools.
