Madhya Pradesh Budget Speech: 2012-13

Hon’ble Finance Minister Shri Raghavji presented the budget for year 2012-13. The salient features of the budget estimates of 2012-13 are as follows:- • Total expenditure of ` 80030.98 crores for the year 2012-13. • Revenue surplus of ` 6370 crores for the year 2012-13. • Fiscal Deficit for the year 2012-13 is estimated to be ` 10017 crores. • Targets set under the Madhya Pradesh Fiscal Responsibility and Budget Management Act, 2005 are expected to be achieved. • Total Revenue Receipts for the year 2012-13 are estimated to be ` 69913 crores. Components of the Revenue Receipts are ` 28311 crores as State’s Own Tax Revenue; ` 21604 crores as share in Central Taxes; ` 7326 crores as State’s Own Non-Tax Revenue and ` 12670 crores of Central Grants. • State’s own Tax Revenue estimates are 22.47 percent higher in 2012-13(B.E) as compared to 2011-12 (B.E). • Revenue Expenditure of ` 63543 crores has been estimated for the year 2012-13 which is ` 9620 crores more than ` 53923 crores for the year 2011-12 (B.E) • Opening balance of ` (-) 76.45 crores is estimated for the year 2012-13. Net transactions during the year are estimated to be ` (-)30.74 crores. Hence, closing balance at the end of the year is estimated to ` (-)107.19 crores. • Plan expenditure for the year 2012-13 is estimated to be ` 31743 crores as against ` 25578 crores for the year 2011-12, which is 24.10 percent higher. • Budget estimates in Tribal sub-plan has been increased from ` 4878 crores for the year 2011-12 to ` 6109 crores for the year 2012-13, which is 25.23 percent higher than the budget estimated for the year 2011-12. • Budget estimates in scheduled caste sub-plan has been increased from ` 3353 crores for the year 2011-12 to ` 4241 crores for the year 2012-13, which is 26.45 percent higher than the budget estimates for the year 2011-12.
