The pensions sector requires strong government regulation. For most Asian countries , given their level of development there is a strong case for dedicated pension regulator. However as distinctions among financial service providers becomes more blurred, greater coordination among regulators will be needed and eventually , a super regulator covering the whole financial and capital markets sector , may become necessary.
