A Current Scenario of India’s Fight against “Undernourishment”: A Draconian Aspect

Soumya Gupta is a Research Economist with the Tata- Cornell Institute for Agriculture and Nutrition, Cornell University (TCI) program. Her research interests lie at the intersections of food security, agriculture and maternal and child nutrition. She is currently associated with TCI’s TARINA project and is working on activities centered on research design, project implementation and evaluation as well as empirical research. This interview with her, elaborated on prevailing condition of undernourishment in India. She also mentions the factors that are lacking behind for addressing the problem. She stressed on coming together of experts from different disciplines of science and government agencies instead of each discipline (or department or ministry) addressing the problem in a stand - alone manner.
