Toward SDG 2: Food Security and Urbanization in the Global South

In light of the United Nations’ SDGs1 and their global hunger directive, in particular Goal 2 to “end hunger, achieve food security and improved nutrition,” it is clear that food security will be a major part of the international development agenda over the next 15 years (UN Department of Economic and Social Affairs [UN DESA] 2014b). While food security is a critical concern for the international community, there is a need for national governments in the Global South to include food security concerns in their national policies.
