The Gender and Land Rights Database (GLRD) is an on-line platform that was launched by FAO in February 2010 with the objective of highlighting the major political, legal and cultural factors that influence the realisation of women’s land rights throughout the world. As of May 2015, the database included 83 country profiles that contain key information on women's land rights, mainly legal-based information, but also information about customary land tenure and gender and land-related policies. The database has a tool for assessing the extent to which national legal frameworks enable gender-equitable land tenure, assessing 30 legal indicators in different countries.
