Prevalence of Vitamin D Deficiency Among preschool Children in Rural Areas
Published By: National Institute of Nutrition (NIN) | Published Date: January, 01 , 2006The objective of this paper is to assess the prevalence of clinical forms of vitamin A deficiency (particularly Bitot spots) among the pre-school children in the rural areas of the States covered by NNMB; to estimate prevalence of sub-clinical vitamin A deficiency in preschool children, and to assess the awareness of women about VAD and the coverage of the target beneficiaries for the supplementation of massive dose of vitamin A under the national programme.
