Growth and Structural Changes in Indian Industries

This paper deals with the growth and structural changes in Indian industries, particularly the manufacturing sector over a period of 1950 to 2010. The most structural change that occurred was industries shift towards capital intensity with rise in productivity of labour. Employment did not grow. It appears that industry is moving towards growth without jobs.
