Networks of Experts and Non-Traditional Security in Asia

From the ‘migrant crisis’ to transboundary haze pollution and the Avian Influenza virus, Asian countries continue to face multiple new security threats which require international cooperation. These non-traditional security (NTS) threats have affected the security of individuals, ethnic groups, women, and local communities. As a result of these multiple impacts, governments, businesses and non-governmental organisations increasingly turn to technical experts who can assess these issues, determine their effects on the general public, and suggest ways to address them
