Notes on Rohith Vemula and the Movement After
Published By: Medico Friend Circle | Published Date: November, 01 , 2015This article offers observations to Gopal Guru’s article which highlights the endemic caste discrimination in places of higher learning in India in the wake of the Rohith Vemula suicide in Hyderabad. The article offers a discussion on the incident itself and builds on Guru’s comment on the state of Dalits in Indian universities and looks at how the process of urbanization and migration have brought these issues into the an increasingly public view and the ways forward for politics of health in the country.
