The Elephant in the Dark: Finding Ways to End India’s Hunger and Malnutrition

This paper tries to map some of the major debates exploring the 'elephant‘ of India‘s failure to end hunger and malnutrition. The authors identify five main hurdles towards addressing the issue of hunger and malnutrition- namely food security, food sovereignty, non food components of nutrition like healthcare, societal inequality and social protection and the right to food .
