Globalisation, Growth and Employment in the Organised Sector of the Indian Economy

One of the most important forces that have shaped India’s economy in the last two and a half decades is the process of globalization. This has been a world-wide phenomenon, and India could not have remained insulated. However, in the case of India, the globalization process was considerably aided by the far reaching economic policy reforms especially liberalization of trade and investment that India undertook since 1991. This paper deals with the effect of globalization on growth of organized manufacturing and organized services sector in India and how this in turn has impacted employment in these two sectors.
