Diviya Kapur, and An Unusual Bookshop in Goa

Published By: Community Audio on eSS | Published Date: January, 24 , 2012

Lawyer Diviya Kapur chose to trade her education at the prestigious National Law School of India University (Bangalore) with running a bookshop in Goa, India. Her ideas resulted in Literati, an innovative and well-appreciated experiment run in an old, refurbished home somewhere near the Calangute-Candolim border, along the North Goa coastal belt. Here, she talks about her priorities, what it means to run an 'indie' bookshop in Goa, and the changing scene of books in India today, from the perspectives of both a bookseller and bibliophile.
