Development of Methodology towards Measurement of Poverty

These techniques will be discussed here. The attempts to measure absolute poverty in India were made to know whether these norms still hold good as of now as the consumption pattern as well as the quantum of daily energy requirements might have undergone changes during the last 35 years.
